Digital Wellbeing ‘Focus Mode’, the feature is rolling out to Android

Digital Wellbeing Focus Mode Feature is launched as a part of Android 10 earlier this year. It aims to help users to minimize distractions and get thins done. Digital Wellbeing provides a dashboard that shows the data for the apps as Apps usage, battery drainage, Mobile data and much more. It also offers parental control for the users to control the usage of the smartphone by kids.

What is Digital Wellbeing Feature?

Digital Wellbeing is a tool featured in Android that can be used to place the limit on when and how much you use your devices. It’s a built in-app dashboard comes in Android 9 and Android 10, shows the usage of Google devices and apps by users. It helps to monitor your smartphone usage habits and maintaining a healthier balance between technology and life.

Digital Wellbeing Focus Mode is rolling out in Android 9 and Android 10. It’s finally out of beta and released in the stable version. Focus Mode includes a scheduling option to pause the distracting apps.” We also added an option to take a break, which lets you step out of Focus mode to use certain apps and jump back in when you’re ready”, said the company in Blog Post.

According to Blog, “You can select apps you currently find distracting (like social media or games) and if you try to open them, Focus mode will remind you that the app is paused. Focus mode will also silence those apps’ notifications until you’re ready to switch out of the mode”, minimizes the distraction from distracting apps.

Open the Settings App

Open the Settings apps on your phone and scroll down for “Digital Wellbeing and Parental Controls”. You can also manually switch from the app list on the smartphone.Digital Wellbeing Focus mode

Ways to Disconnect and Reduce interruptions

You can find more than one way to disconnect yourself from the phone. Also, to reduce interruptions using Do not Disturb and manage notifications.

Focus Mode

Tap on Focus mode to gain access over particular distracting apps and paused them. Inside focus mode, you will find a list of apps, select among them which you think might be distracting you and Turn on now button.Digital Wellbeing Focus mode

Turn Off the feature

You can turn off the feature from the settings. There is also a quick settings toggle menu notifications tray. By selecting the edit menu of quick settings you can add the quick menu of Digital Wellbeing.Digital Wellbeing Focus mode

Focus Mode also silence the distracting app’s notifications until you switch out from the mode. You can use this feature in School hours, work or home. Focus mode comes with a break schedule, which lets you step out of the mode. It is available on all devices which run on Android 9 and Android 10 including new Phones.
