Neuralink

Elon Musk Neuralink is working on a human chip that connects human brain to a computer. On twitter handle Elon Musk announce about the friday event about live stream of Neuralink working demo. The stream will shows real-time firing of neurons in brains.

In the summer event of 2019, the first time Elon Musk introduces the concept behind this experiment. Musk explained how researchers are working to link human brains to computers. The summer event was all about the simulation of the brain and neural recording. You can see the paper of the event available on the official website.

The Elon Musk OpenAI research lab recently launch a GPT-3 language model. This AI language model can write text by providing only a sentence or phrase as a description.

The research paper on the website published last year discusses the methods used.

We have built arrays of small and flexible electrode “threads”, with as many as 3,072 electrodes per array distributed across 96 threads. We have also built a neurosurgical robot capable of inserting six threads (192 electrodes) per minute.

Each thread can be individually inserted into the brain with micron precision for the avoidance of surface vasculature and targeting specific brain regions. The electrode array is packaged into a small implantable device that contains custom chips for low-power onboard amplification and digitization: the package for 3,072 channels occupies less than (23 × 18.5 × 2) mm3.

A single USB-C cable provides full-bandwidth data streaming from the device, recording from all channels simultaneously.

How Neuralink will Work? As written in a research paper, there will be a USB-C cord in or on your head. This USB-C type cable is for connectivity of your brain and computer to communicate by signals.

Musk Neuralink’s goal is to help medical patients. Elon Musk thinks that one-day Artificial Intelligence could outsmart humans and this neural link will help humans to communicate to machines.

Elon Musk has not shared any link to watch live stream demo of working Neuralin yet. He has tweeted and confirmed the live stream at 3 p.m Pacific time (3:30 am Friday, IST) on Friday. The link will be shared on the Neuralink website.
