Social media apps like Snapchat, Instagram, twitter, and Linkedin have already have stories for users. Spotify is bringing some new, it is testing stories for playlists. The feature can be seen on latest app on Android and iOS platform.

If you are a part of beta testing of Spotify app, you will see a story on select playlist like Christmas Hits and Tear drop. After tapping on story, you will get instagram style story interface. In this you can navigate next and prev by tapping on screen.

“At Spotify, we routinely conduct a number of tests in an effort to improve our user experience. Some of those tests end up paving the path for our broader user experience and others serve only as an important learning. We have no further news to share on future plans at this time”, spotify spokeperson to Engadget.

WhatsApp Pay in India Gets Approval By NPCI

WhatsApp from Facebook has to deal with data compliance issues. The Facebook CEO, Zuckerberg already hints about the new WhatsApp Update, WhatsApp pay service launch in India. National Payments Corporation of India grants approval for WhatsApp UPI payments in India. The approval by NPCI also grants WhatsApp to launch WhatsApp Pay with a multi-bank model in India.

In WhatsApp Pay, you can add more than one bank accounts for UPI payments and Fund transfer. The approval grants only in a graded manner, with a maximum user base of 20M in UPI. As per stats, India has crossed 2BN UPI transactions in starting 15 days of last month.

The WhatsApp pay will be initially available to 20 million users in India during the first phase. WhatsApp has assured NPCI to better deal with the data norms. In India WhatsApp has over 400 million users, makes it one of the largest messaging services.

Mark Zuckerberg said “We got approval to test this with one million people in India back in 2018. And when so many of the people kept using it week after week, we knew it was going to be big when we get to launch”, during a company’s call (Feb. 2020). If WhatsApp pay has rolled out in India for all users it will become mostly used payment app.

NPCI Caps UPI volume cap to 30% for third-party providers

NPCI said, “UPI reaching 2 Bn transactions a month and with potential for future growth, it has issued a cap of 30% of the total volume of transactions processed in UPI, applicable on all Third-Party App Providers (TPAPs)”. This will be in effect by 1 January 2021, this regulation will help to protect the UPI ecosystem as it further scales up. It will affect the payments app like Gpay, PhonePay, Paytm and other.

WhatsApp Web gets Support for Voice and Video Calls

WhatsApp is always improving the web version and adding new features to it. Earlier, WhatsApp has added messenger room integration to the Web version. In the recent version of WhatsApp Web 2.2043.7 update, it is likely to get the support of voice and video call.

The feature is first spotted by WABetainfo, it has also shared the screenshots. As per reports, the features will be available for the messaging platform. The feature will let you make and receive voice and video calls from the web version.

When you receive a call on the WhatsApp web version, you will see a pop-up screen to answer or decline the call. This pop-up screen layout will change when you are calling somebody. It will show you options to hangup call, Mic, switch to video, and option to check call status.

The voice and video call supoort on WhatsApp Web is also extended to group calls. The feature is expected to roll out in upcoming weeks.

Jio Upcoming 5G Phone Price in India

Jio is planning to launch an affordable 5G smartphone in India.The Indian Telecom giant has collaborated with tech giants Google. The collaboration is done for making a 5G smartphone with Google services.

Jio is targeting 20 to 30 crores users with 2G smartphones. Jio Chairman Mukesh Ambani said in the AGM event. “As India is standing at the doorsteps of the 5G era, we should accelerate the migration of 350 million Indians, who currently use a 2G feature phone, to an affordable smartphone”.

As per the report, Jio will be selling the upcoming Jio 5G phone at a price of less than Rs. 5,000 in India. The company is also planning to decrease the price of Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 3,000, once the production gets scaled.

A Reliance Jio official say to PTI, “Jio wants to bring the device for less than Rs 5,000. When we scale up the sales, it can be priced in the range of Rs 2,500-3,000”.
